An artist’s take on visualizing statistics

Artist Chris Jordan spoke at TED 2008 about his work to make statistics more meaningful through  photographic art.

As Jordan explains, his photographs visualize statistics about social issues that “our brain just doesn’t have the ability to comprehend”. He describes his goal is to “…take these numbers, these statistics, from the raw language of data and to translate them into a more universal visual language that can be felt”.
