Monitoring progress towards achieving the MDGs

Last November, the UN launched MDG Monitor, a web site developed in partnership with Google and Cisco. MDG Monitor presents the latest data from the UN Statistics Division about progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

According to the site it “is designed as a one-stop-shop for… policymakers, development practitioners, journalists, students and others interested in learning about the Goals and tracking progress toward them.” (About the MDG Monitor and the MDGs)

The site’s main features are country profiles, an interactive MDG map  and news feeds. With less than seven years left to achieve the MDGs, the aim is to increase access to information about them and focus attention on their achievement.
